Labor 

Obtained a $93.6 million jury verdict for Plaintiff who alleged that a union engaged in illegal slowdowns and work stoppages in violation of Section 303 of the Labor Management Relations Act.

Obtained a defense verdict for a company falsely accused of retaliating against employees for attempting to unionize.

​

Discrimination

Obtained the second highest jury verdict in Deschutes County (at the time) on behalf of two plaintiffs claiming age discrimination.

​

Obtained a King County defense verdict in favor of a tugboat company wrongfully accused of disability discrimination, which was appealed up to the Washington Supreme Court, and won.

Equal Rights

Defeated out of state activists’ attempts to stop Oregon’s Fund for Black Relief and Resiliency ensuring $62 million of CARES Act funds was fully distributed to Oregon’s Black community suffering disproportional harm during the COVID-19 pandemic.  

Wage & Hour/Prevailing Wage

Defeated the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries which wrongfully accused defendant of failing to pay prevailing wages.

Represented defendants in wage and hour class actions related to failure to pay wages and meal and rest breaks. 

 

Maritime

Represented seamen in U.S. Coast Guard Suspension and Revocation hearing under the new sexual harassment laws applicable to the maritime industry.

During my 20 years in the Business Group with Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt, I refined my legal skills in labor and employment law by providing legal and leadership advice to executives and boards of directors, conducting sensitive and complex workplace investigations, negotiating and drafting multifaceted contracts, providing vital support to M&A transaction teams, and leading complex litigation teams to successful outcomes.
